FAQ

Are you a death doula?

No, but there are similarities in our work. A death doula holds space for families and individuals while a person is dying. I work with families after their loved one has passed to assist them in honoring their loved one’s memory.

Are you an event planner?

My work is in writing and officiating a meaningful ceremony. Coordinating venues and flowers are not my specialty.

Are your services religious?

I specialize in non-religious ceremonies but am happy to add traditional elements of your choosing. If you’d like to incorporate elements that would normally be delivered by a clergyman, I’m happy to coordinate with the right person to deliver that portion of the service.

How is a celebrant lead funeral different than a traditional one?

The services I write are completely customized and based on the unique legacy of your loved one. I don’t google “quotes for funerals”, and rather than relying on commonly referenced scriptures, I focus on telling the story of the singular life we’ve come to celebrate, by adding carefully selected songs, poems, and original writings. I hold space for families to discover how to make the celebration their own.
